2025 Rio Hardy
Cornhole Cup

The 15th Annual Rio Hardy Cornhole Cup is on its way, along with your chance to take home the Savage Memorial Trophy! This year’s event will take place at Mosqueda Cantina on the Rio Hardy in Baja Mexico on Sunday, August 31 at 11:00 AM.

For 2025 we are changing things up! The Rio Hardy Cornhole Cup is going blind! For the first time, we’re going to run the Advanced division as a blind draw. That means each Advanced player will sign up as a single player and we will randomly partner each entrant with another Advanced player. This will be a double-elimination tournament, so your team has to lose twice before you go home.

The only Advanced player who will have an assigned partner is 7-time Rio Hardy Cornhole Cup champion, Shawn Fears! Why, you ask? Since the main objective of this event is to raise money for charity, we decided to auction off the opportunity to play with Mr. Fears for this year’s tournament! If you would like to submit a bid to become Shawn Fears’ partner, email David Williams with the amount you’re willing to pay. The current bid is $250 from Cherise Thielen (sponsored by Jeff Groeger). We will update this page each time a bid comes in.

Another added feature for 2025 is an additional party at Guzman’s Cantina on Friday night at 7:00! For the Advanced blind draw we need to pull names from a hat to pair up the teams for Sunday’s big event, so we thought we’d do it with the Guzman family and whatever players want to show up to see who their partner will be!! If you don’t make it to the party, be sure to check your email (the one you use for PayPal) on Saturday to see who your partner will be.

There will be no changes to the Novice division and it will continue to run as it has in the past with each player signing up with the teammate of their choice. This will be a double-elimination tournament, so your team has to lose twice before you go home.

This is the spot to order all things related to the 2025 Rio Hardy Cornhole Cup. We have t-shirts, tank tops, hoodies, hats, stickers, raffle tickets and, of course, you can get registered to play in the Cornhole Cup Store. You must purchase entries and apparel in advance. This event will sell out, so there will be no signups at the event and very few shirts available, if any.

David Williams is heading up the planning of this year’s event, so let him know if you would like to volunteer, donate or if you have a suggestion to make this the best Cornhole Cup ever!
